The art of Nils Hamm

Magicmansam has been producing a series of YouTube videos covering Magic artists. His latest video is his best one yet in terms of production values. It’s also my favourite since the subject is my favourite artist, Nils Hamm.

Check out the video, it’s well worth the viewing:

Some nice art. The owl really grabbed me for seeming sort of mystic and personifying the mystery and power of nature at the same time in (to me) a slightly sinister way. The same with the ent/treeman in the video.

The owl is meant to be a fairly sinister creature in the game, so I think he did the job well there!

Has anyone had luck contacting Nils for prints? So far I’ve been unable to find high quality prints of his for sale. Even high resolution digital copies are scarce.

Original Magic Art might be able to help, as they recently started selling playmates of Nils’ art, clearly based off high quality digital images

Thanks for the suggestion. All I could find on OMA was a playmat. A German friend has reached out to him twice on Instagram, but no response. I will try to contact him on Art Station. I gotta have Baleful Strix printed and framed on my wall lol.

Update: Nils responded and put me in touch with the owner of OMA. Very happy with their prompt and helpful responses. Got the Baleful Strix now!
