Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

MtG artists: Ryan Alexander Lee

Ryan Lee’s art first appeared in the recent Theros block, and has been with us in sets since then, usually 1-2 pieces per set. I’ve selected five of my favourites from the cards he has illustrated so far.

Arcanis the Omnipotent

This art was done for a Duel Deck that featured a controlling deck versus and aggressive one. Arcanis’ deck was the controlling half.

Empty the Pits

Zombies surge forth in this art from the Khans of Tarkir set.

Iridiscent Angel

This angel dominates the battlefield in this art from the special From the Vault: Angels set.

Mardu Hateblade

A warrior prepares to swing a deadly blow in this art from Khans of Tarkir. The Mardu clan’s colours are red, white, and black, and these all apear on the warrior to some extent.

Spectra Ward

This spell gives protection from colours, something suggested by the art.
