Board games event raises over $90,000 for charity

The Chronicle of Philanthropy is not a place you might expect to read abut board games. But here you go.

The second Moxtropolis event has raised $91,000 for Hopelink, a charity that feeds homeless and low income families in the Seattle area. The original funding goal was $30,000 so the event can be judged a great success.

The event had a tournament structure, and all players to purchase “power ups” to move ahead through making donations. Clearly everyone likes an advantage in their games!

As board games grow it is nice to see positive events like this being organised.
