From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.
Winona Nelson is relatively new to Magic: the Gathering, as has produced almost three dozen cards over the past few years. Hopefully we shall see many more to come!
Voice of Resurgence
This became the most sought-after card from the Dragon’s Maze set it appeared in, though I have to admit that was for the card’s play value rather than the art. However the art here is great and would look quite at home of the cover of a book by Charles de Lint.
This card, from the Innistrad set, appealed to me the first time I saw it. The desperate resolve in the woman’s eyes is so striking.
The art and card from the Theros set are meant to evoke the story of Narcissus, which the art achieves perfectly.
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Bruna is one of three powerful angels who appear alongside Avacyn when she is restored. In Bruna, Winona Nelson has given us one of the best arts in the set.
This is a promotional art for this card, it appears only in foil, and only to players who do well at Friday Night Magic. I’m sure they were happy to receive this one!
