From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.
The new block for Magic: the Gathering has been announced – Khans of Tarkir. Wizards of the Coast have provided us with a couple of art pieces only at this stage. The first set is released at the end of September 2014.
Our first piece of art shows a mixed army at the ready. We see horse and foot troops, as well as humans and ogres. Spears, lances, and banners are much in evidence. The stand on a blasted rock under a cloudy sky, with a dragon-like rock formation dripping with lava behind them. This will be a very different world from the lush lands of Theros.
Tarkir is also the home of this planeswalker:
Sarkhan Vol, last seen wandering the land of Zendikar, quite mad. He looks better in this picture, but we’ll see. Sarkhan Vol left his home plane of Tarkir years ago in search of dragons, which had been wiped out there. He found them on Jund, and also found the dragon planeswalker Nicol Bolas, whom Sarkhan served for a time. Does he still serve Nicol Bolas? I have no idea. We can expect to see more art from the Khans of Tarkir set in August 2014.
